If you're planning to visit the palace during summer then it is strongly advisable to book in advance and confirm your room because Royal Palace is open for visiting even for locals only during summer. Royal Palace - Another building worth visiting in Oslo is the Royal Palace of Norway, located at the heart of Oslo. Opens for visit only in summer, the Royal Palace is the official residence for the Norwegian Monarch, although none of the monarchs are currently staying here. You will have to buy tickets in advance before coming to the palace and tickets are sold in post offices, not at the palace ground. There are also guided tours in English twice a week. If you're visiting the palace, make sure you come in early summer as the palace gets crowded with local and foreign visitors as summer end closes. You can ask at the post office itself for the time of English guided tour, unless you're okay with Norwegian language.
