experience in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Lee Lai
Huat
Chief Executive Officer
As the Chief Executive Officer, Lee is responsible for HolidayCity’s overall
company management and business profitability. This involves the
establishment of the company’s strategies, business development and
marketing directions to build and develop HolidayCity to become a global
brand name.
At the operational level, he works
closely with the department managers of Marketing, Customer Service and
Finance to ensure that their respective goals are achieved. Lee also
participates in various projects to enhance HolidayCity's websites and
customer experience.
After two years spent working from a home office and setting up a web
solution company, Lee launched HolidayCity.com in 1998. He conceptualized,
developed and marketed the online hotel accommodation booking service from
the beginning.
Armed with a bachelor’s degree (with merit) in Information Technology from
Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia, and a diploma in
Electronics Engineering from the French Singapore Institute Singapore
(currently Nanyang Polytechnic Singapore), Lee embarked on a career in the
IT industry as a computer programmer at a Singapore-based multimedia
company, Creative Technology Ltd. He then joined Lotus (IBM) as a software
engineer with a team involved in localizing the Lotus Window Application for
China, Korea and Japan market.
Married with three children, Lee spends his spare time catching up on his
reading, travelling and dining with family and friends.

Gan Hock Chin
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Gan, co-founder
and deputy CEO of HolidayCity.com, oversees the general management
of the company. He has direct oversight responsibility over the 3
integral departments, namely the Information Technology, Business
Development and Human Resource. He provides advice on the objectives
set by each department, offers feedback on how the goals can be
attained and highlights any issues which may be a contributing
factor. Gan also gives advice on any proposals or initiatives which
may have an impact on the departments under his purview.
Gan graduated from
the Nanyang Technology University, Singapore with a Bachelor of
Computer Technology (Hons) in 1993. He was a Senior Software
Engineer in Creative Technology Ltd for 6 years where he designed
and programmed the Windows software for Creative Sound Blaster
cards.
In 1998, Gan developed HolidayCity.com. In the early years as the
Chief Technology Officer, he worked on the design and development of
web technology, focusing on customers experience and web security,
which are of paramount importance to the customers. Eventually, as
the company grows, he assumed the position of Deputy CEO to focus on
expansion of business as well as overseeing the general
administration of the company.
Aside from spending time with his family, Gan indulges in a game of
football whenever he can. He also collects stamps as a hobby and
enjoys reading.

David Chai
Chin Loy
Business Development
Manager
David's main
responsibility is to sign up and promote hotel partners to be
featured on the HolidayCity website. To that end, he maintains
relationships with the current hotel partners, establishes and
renegotiating hotel agreements with current and new partners and
overseas the placement of hotels on the HolidayCity website.
David's extensive background in the hotel industry began with a
Diploma in Hotel Management from a private college in Malaysia,
progressing steadily to various key management positions in
internationally known hotels and travel agencies in areas of
operations, sales and marketing. When he can find the time, David
enjoys swimming, tennis, musicals and plays, and dining.

Chin Yew Meng
Customer Service Manager
Chin oversees the
overall management of the Customer Service department which handles
reservations, enquiries and complaints; liaises with hotels on
various issues; handles other related projects and internal training
courses; and maintains customer points of contacts.
Chin has extensive background in customer service call centre environment and has 25 years of experience in the IT industry. He has also been on overseas assignments to Beijing, Tokyo and Hong Kong prior to joining HolidayCity. Married with three children, Chin spends most of his spare time engaging in sports activities such as basketball and football, reading, listening to music and travelling.

Abraham Thomas
Marketing & Communications Manager
Abraham’s main
task is to lead the finance team to achieve its departmental goals
and objectives, a heavy responsibility which includes the timely
reporting of management reports and reviewing and implementing
procedures that will enhance collections from customers.
Abraham has an extensive background in finance, being an Associate
member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (U.K.)
and a chartered member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
His previous work experience includes a 15 year stint as the
Accounts & Admin Manager of a medium sized company involved in the
assembly of plastic components in the automobile industry and 3
years as an Audit Assistant in a certified public accountants
company.
In his spare times, Abraham is an avid listener of rock, reggae, and
R&B music especially that from the 60’s to 80’s. He enjoys traveling
and watching documentaries by National Geographic and Animal Planet,
preferably in the company of his wife and one daughter.

Hanim Shukor
Marketing & Communications Manager
Hanim’s main task is to
increase HolidayCity’s presence in the online travel market through
strategic media campaign and other marketing initiatives. She has 10
years experience in marketing and communications, with stints in the
publishing, research and development, and tourism and hospitality
industries.
Hanim holds a Bachelor in Education (TESL) from University of Malaya
and likes to spend her spare time catching up with family and
friends, traveling, reading and acquiring skills in nature
photography.

Ng Chow Leng (Angie)
Human Resources
Manager
Angie's
overall
job description is to manage the daily operations of the
company's human resources department, which spans the whole
HR spectrum from recruitment and placement, compensation
and benefit, counseling, disciplinary proceedings and
performance evaluation, as well as to maintain a harmonious
work surroundings.
Angie came from a
from a catholic girl school background in Ipoh, proceeding
to study at the Institute of Personnel Management, Malaysia
before finishing her studies at Universiti Malaysia in HR &
General Statistics.
Angie
initially served in the IGB group in the Head Office
Personnel Admin (HOPA) department, before moving on to the
conglomerate Sime Darby's HR division. Among the tasks she
handle in this position was various types of job related
training, job rotation, team building, outward bound school
& more for companies within the group such as Tractors
Malaysia, Ford Malaysia and its various subsidiaries. Angie
was also attached to Osim Malaysia prior to joining
HolidayCity.com.
When not
busy seeing to the welfare of the staff, Angie can be found
gardening or reading, among other things. She also has an
avid interest in traveling and exploring the world.
